Omega 3-6-9

What are Omega-3-6-9?

Omega-3 fatty acids, as we have mentioned, are a type of poly-saturated fat considered essential because the body cannot produce them. For that reason, they must be incorporated with food or nutraceuticals

Omega 6 fatty acids are also a poly-saturated fat that the human body cannot produce. Therefore, they must also be incorporated through food or nutraceuticals.

It is important to be aware that Omega-3 and Omega 6 are substances that may work together and be highly beneficial to the organism. In a healthy diet, the supply of Omega 6 acids must be approximately two or four times greater than Omega 3.

Omega-9 fatty acids come from a family of unsaturated fats that are normally found in vegetable and animal fats. This mono-unsaturated fat is classified as Omega 9 because the double link is found in the ninth position from the omega point.

Although Omega 3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 acids fulfill various functions within the body, it has been clearly demonstrated that it is necessary to include balanced proportions of essential and non-essential fatty acids in order to maintain a good cardiac health and a general well-being.

Benefits of Omega 3-6-9

Among the many benefits that result from consuming a diet balanced in Omega 3-6-9, we emphasize that:

  • They contribute to preventing coronary illnesses and strokes.
  • They contribute to brain and ocular development.
  • They increase the level of “good cholesterol” and reduce the level of ‘bad’ cholesterol.
